This movie was actually pretty damn good I dont see how people thought it was bad.

That music at the end made me happy. The producer/director had way too much artistic freedom, and wen't completely off the story line. Imagine if that happened in harry potter or lord of the rings. The best scene in the entire film easily. When I saw Shelly Duvall's picture in the thumbnail, I was like, NO. This HAS to be photoshopped! Is that really how she looks right now? I feel so bad, man. Who woulda thought the twins turned out to look the. We were so glad we went to see this in the theater. It dropped the audience into a hypnotic trance soon after the opening scenes. You felt something was going to take you for a journey; through a ghoulish and haunting history to a more revealing entity behind the chilling past and reality that it still thrives after a couple of decades of being overwhelmed by the frightening events exposed.

This music makes me sad 😞. Doctor Sleep, releasing after 40 years of the original, was one of the anticipated movies of this year. I must say that it didn't disappoint. Mike Flanagan, known for his direction of horror movies like Oculus, The Haunting of Hill House was given the task and he ensured he did it right.
I can't say it was better than the first one but yes it was indeed a to see Danny Torrance once again and this was more supernatural than being violent.
I would go with 3.5/5 for Doctor Sleep.

The Shining was more than just a horror movie, there was something extra trippy about it, and I read somewhere that when Jack was filming Anjelica Houston just had to stay away from him because he lived that character for about 8 months, and she said it was just too much. THAT WAS HENRY THOMAS? Fuuuuuuuuuuugin el. 2:23 Here's Danny. I'll admit that when "Doctor Sleep" was announced I was skeptical: how can anybody possibly make a film that lives up to "The Shining, one of the greatest horror movies ever made? But having finally seen "Doctor Sleep" I'm won over: this movie is an absolute blast. It isn't perfect by any means - it's maybe 20 minutes too long and the ending didn't fully work. But I was blown away by the incredible performances (especially from Ewan McGregor and Kyliegh Curran) engaging story, and the flawless incorporation of Kubrick's visual style into a fresh and enjoyable sequel.
"Doctor Sleep" does what every follow-up needs to do: it builds upon the world established by the first movie and goes off in new directions while staying true to the spirit of its predecessor. So much effort was put into developing the original characters while updating them for a new generation without becoming a retread of old material. By the end, I truly cared about Dan Torrance even more than I did while watching the original, and I came to love new characters just as much. In particular, Rebecca Ferguson plays a great villain who's menacing without going over the top like many horror antagonists. Also, look for Henry Thomas (Eliot from "E.T. in a surprise role that I won't dare spoil.
"Doctor Sleep" shouldn't have been this good. But it is. This is a horror movie done right. 8/10.

Shelly was Great in The Shining! Sad she lost her looks & her mind. Vamp from metal gear can beat them. I loved this movie. If not for Joker I'd say this was the best movie all year. It wasn't a true horror but it knew how make you feel on edge like it was. And that scene with the baseball kid. Gave me chills give that kid an award because holy shit that was uncomfortable to watch. Definitely a worth sequel to the shining.

When Predator doesn't know prey have parasite. So nobodys gonna make a zombieland reference. What the hell people 😂. Mark my words, we will be talking about this movie 20 years from now the way we talk about its predecessor. The Shining wasn't well received when it was released. 3:15 why is she smiling. I cant belive the time is so fast and they have changed a lots. This is going to be crazy! 💯💯 Can't wait. I love how the background noise slowly gets louder and more ominous as Lloyd/Jack gives his medicine speech, as if that's the moment when Jack is speaking instead of Lloyd. This is already a cult classic - because its that good. Cannot stress enough how much I loved this movie and Mike Flanagan. Hes so talented and this movie is INSANE. Its so cool how she suddenly has Dans eye color while he is talking through her.

It's odd. Lloyd doesn't look like Jack Nicholson, but he looks like Jack Torrance... Was such a great adaptation, you missed soooo many Dark Tower references though. Flanagan put in a massive amount of easter eggs to a bunch of King's other works. Shame steven king hates this movie i think its a master peice of acting and directing and cinamatography.
